The Best Time To Fear

Halloween is her favorite time of year, she loves the gore and the costumes around her. Isabell yearns for the chaos of the holiday season of scares. This year the young girl was going as a simple unicorn and she wanted to have fun. Though she did not know the fun was going to turn into her getting chased by a killer. As she was walking the side walk with her friends she saw someone suspicious looking start following them. She told them and they turned corners and went into stores. But nothing they did lost him. He was covered in blood, and it wasn't fake, he had murdered a girl two hours before. They just sped up their pace and they eventually got to Isabell's house, went in, and locked every door. But he was already in the house. They kept getting calls on the home phone and they answered. But the only thing on the other end was heavy breathing. After two hours of being terrorized they called the police. A police officer came and checked the place and stayed in front of the house. The man was still in the home watching the girls. They kept getting calls and the police officer tracked the other end of the call. The call was coming from the inside of the house. The girls ran out to the police car but only two of the three made it. The man had taken Isabell back into the house by her hair as she cried for help. She was stabbed twenty-seven times in the stomach and the mystery man missed any major arteries. She was rushed to the hospital and had four surgeries for the total amount of damage that occurred. Though, there was something she was holding back from everyone. She didn't even tell her therapist, there was just complete fear in her eyes everyday for the rest of her life. A few years later the same man found her again and shot her in the leg and let her live once again, but only a few weeks after her surgery for her leg she was killed. This man had been stalking her for twenty-eight years and eventually killed her. The poor girl knew this man, that's why she was so fearful, but she couldn't tell anyone who it was because it was her father...

A Life in Danger - Part 4

I know now that I need to get back home and find someone that knows what happened to me. Just then I ran into a girl that looked so nice. She has black hair with red highlights in it. Her eyes were blue with a little bit of green. She also had an iPhone7 in her hand when I ran into her. She looks like she just came from Church because she had a beautiful black dress on. The dress was beautiful, the right side on the bottom was longer than the left side, asymmetrical. She also had black Nike shoes on.
Then the nice-looking girl looked back up at me and said, “Sorry, I was not looking where I was going.”
I looked back up at her and said, “No, I’m sorry, I was not looking were I was going, sorry.”
“No…No it is okay." She said.
     “Okay.” I said.
“Were you looking for something?” She asked
     “No.” I said.
“Okay.” She said, “Are you hurt?”
“Yes,” I answered. “but I’m not sure how I got hurt.”
“You don’t remember how you got hurt?” She asked me.
“No.” I answered “I think I have amnesia and I just escaped from someone who was trying to kill me in my hospital room. I didn’t even get to eat the lunch that they brought me.”
“Well, are you hungry? I mean, you look like you are.” She asked me.
“Yes, I am so hungry. I think I’m going to eat myself if I don’t eat soon.” I said.
“Good, because I know a nice quiet place that is so good, it’s right around here.” She said.
"Okay, that would be great, thanks.” I said.
“Do you want to come with me?” She asked
“Oh, I don’t know.” I said. “But it would be so nice to eat, yeah let’s go.”
“Okay, well then let’s go eat some good food." She said.
    “Okay.” I said.

Unknown Love - Part 3

Ten minutes later she walked out of the bathroom with her hair long and curled and she was in her corset. But she needed help tightening it.
"Lace me up cow boy." She said smiling and holding onto the bed post as he walked up behind her to tighten her corset. It only took about five minutes unlike the normal twenty minutes.
"Step in." He said holding the dress so she could step in and get dressed. Then he laced up her dress too. She then sat down and he put her heels on her feet like Cinderella. In a way she was Cinderella, his Cinderella.
"Thank you." She said as she went towards the door and down the stairs.
"You're welcome." He said still on one knee.
"Come here." She said using one finger.
"What? Can you not breathe?" He asked.
"I can breathe fine." She said grabbing his tie. "Meet me in the garden, one." She whispered into his ear.
"I'll be there." He said in her ear, he sent shivers down her back and he could tell.
"Good." She said smoothing her dress and walking out the door. All he could do was smile.
She made her way down the stairs and sat at the lunch table. "Good morning mother." She said putting her napkin in her lap.
At lunch her mother couldn't stop smiling. Her mother knew what happened, she sent him up to her room. Even Princess Evelyn was happy, though she knew it shouldn't happened. As the fifteen year old butler started to serve desert she spilled tea all down the front of her. He helped her out of her seat and she started up the stairs. He finished serving deserts and met her in her room to help her get changed.
"Did you do that on purpose?" He asked as he unlaced her dress.
"What if I did?" She asked a little flirty.
"If you did, I'm in love with you. If you didn't, then I take what I just said back." He explained.
"I'm in love with you too." She said as he laced up a new dress. He turned her around and kissed her.
They finally knew the love they shared. They finally realized the dreams they had were with each other. Their unknown love, that was known by everyone except them, was officially known by the simple boy and girl.

In Summer

In summer.

She smells of crisp air
Of February. Her breezes
Hallucinate my senses.
And am bemused in her art.

The flavor of her lips,
Warm. Ripe. Juicy like a
Fruit from paradise. In April.

Her laughs I soak. They unbutton
The clothes of sadness. She
Unclothes my soul stark naked.

Shadows

People,
Are shadows.

Animals
Are too.

There are generations
And generations
For shadows to go
Through.

Show Me

Show me how you turn my cracks into
Budding flowers.
Show me how you see the world.
Show me how I taste the sun on your lips.
Show me how you make the moon shine
in my eyes.
Show me how you make the stars radiate
through me.
Show me through your eyes.

Loves Competition - Chapter 1

Claire

It was financing class and we were learning about sports salaries.
“The average NBA player makes 4.5 million and the average WNBA 72 thousand.” Mr. Like said as he wrote it on the whiteboard. Then I shot my hand in the air.
“Excuse me, Mr. Like ,but why are women paid less. If society says we are equal then why are women getting paid less in sports still.” I asked furiously. I’m sorry but women not getting treated equal is infuriating. All of a sudden Lucas, the most adored kid in school, spoke up.
“It’s because girls sports are boring. Their is no toughness in it. They just prance around pretending to be as good as guys and trying to throw the ball.” Everyone snickered and the girls sighed as Lucas shook the hair out of his face. I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
“I could take you any day and have you crying at the end like a baby or would you be too afraid to ruin you perfect hair.” I said putting quotes around perfect hair as I turned to stare down his electric blue eyes.
“Oh please, you would be too afraid to ruin your nails or makeup.” He retorted back. I glared at him. Everyone just stared at us, looking from one person to another. Finally Mr. Like intervened.
“Enough you two. Class dismissed.” As I walked out of the classroom, Lucas caught up to me.
“Hey Claire, we don’t have to go play each other. I know you were just flirting. Why don’t we catch a movie after school or something.” He said as I grabbed my books out of my locker. I slammed the locker door.
“Are you seriously that conceited. I seriously could beat you in any sport. You know not all girls are into you and I asked the principal if the boys basketball team, which you are on of course, can play the girls and the whole school can watch and guess what he said, he said yes. You better bring your tissues because you’re going to be crying after this game. So see you tonight in the gym. And by the way, I would rather gouge out my eyes with a plastic spork and bury myself alive then go out with you.” I said this as I turned around and left the building shouldering Lucas and his friends as I left.

By: Grace

I am very sorry to announce that this story, Love's Competition, will not be continued with a chapter 2, 3, 4, or any others. The author, Grace, did not like her writing. I am leaving it up on here if you would like to read it. But there is good news! She, Grace, will be starting a new series called Reckless Love. It is being posted Thursday (November 23, 2017)  because it has a Thanksgiving theme tied in...the first chapter at least! We both hope you like it!!

One in a Zillion

One million hairs
on your body. Billions
of blood cells in your
body. Trillions of skin
cells on just your arms.
All these big numbers,
but there is only one
you.

Chapter 4 - I Care

“Well when I came up to her she kind of...didn’t really… remember me.” I said.

“What do you mean she didn’t remember you.” Aaron shouted as he pushed me up and held me against the wall.

“Calm down Aaron.” Rose said in a calming voice.
“No, I will not calm down!” He shouted. “Where is she?”
“Look, I was walking around town and she was just, there. She was walking out of King High School.” I said.
“Walking out of high school. Really? How long did it take you to think of that?” He asked still shouting at me.
“I am not making it up! I saw her. I talked to her.” I said shouting back.
“You talked to her. Then what did she say?” He shouted.
“Well, when I came up to her I tried to talk but she kept saying she didn’t know me. And when I kept trying to get her to remember her friend told me to back off and then dragged her away.” I said.
“Her friend dragged her away!” He said angrily.
“Yes, her school friend!” I said louder.
“Then why didn’t you chase after her and bring her here?” He said getting louder.
“I wasn’t just going to take her.” I said trying to stay calm.
“Why not? We could have helped her!” He said now starting to shout even more.
“Not against her will. I wasn’t going to take her if she didn’t want to…” I said but then Aaron cut me off.
“Do you only care about yourself? She was our friend and you just let her go! We all cared about her and you just let her go! Don’t you…” Aaron shouted but then I cut him off.
“Do you think I don’t care about her! I LOVED HER! I don’t want her gone! I want her back but we are going to have to find a different way because I am not going to drag her away and make her trust me even less. So, if you want to go find her be my guest. But don’t you ever think that I don’t care about her. Understand?” I shouted at Aaron.
“Ok…lets all take a breath.” Pearl said.
“Aaron let Jackson go.” Tony said coming over to us.
Tony took Aaron’s arm and moved it so that I could get off of the wall. Aaron left to the living room without saying a word. Everyone else was also speechless after my big outbreak.
“Let's go for a walk.” Tori said to me.

Hearts

Broken Hearts,
Leave nasty scars.

Heavy Hearts,
Leave darkened souls.

Torn Hearts,
Leave broken bones.

Happy Hearts,
Leave you whole.

Just How It Is

Kindness dribbles from few.
Love knows no bounds.

Hate flows from everywhere.
Peace can't be found.

Sadness overwhelms.
Happiness is real in two.

Fake faces, look around.
Fake smiles all over town.

Flowers - Part 2

She slewed and slayed everything that came in her way
until she got to her target.
Me!!!
How is this even right?
How didn't I see this coming?
The number of her preys grew as the wind blew.
All that to get to me (this is supposed to make me feel special??-twisted)
The battle line was drawn.
She became the green eyed widow.
Her dark long wavy hair suddenly became red.
I guess she traded her heart for her hair.

She looked bat-shit crazy,
But even like this she remains beautiful.
Maybe I am the crazy one,
Nah! I'm just in love (I think).
She came little closer and I let my emotions guide me
and I stood unguarded.
She cut right through my chest,
Found my heart and carefully fed herself.
She loved precious stones(she probably thought my heart was diamond).
I did want to be her treasure but oh well!

I speak to you in pain.
I lay in my own blood which looks good on her by the way.
I'm not going too struggle knowing this is the last I might
perceive of her scent.
This indeed is the beginning of our lives.
Like I said before,
I'm not letting go this time.
I stabbed right where I knew there was no turning back.
I held her still beside me.
Now we'll be together forever.
