There was a girl. She started texting a boy she didn't know. A boy two years older than her. They started texting and falling for each other and she instantly fell for him. They flirted and sent flirty selfies, but nothing more. But there was a catch, they never actually met. They still haven't. Their flirting went on for about a month and a half. The summer before she went to a new school. The summer of 2016. She only started texting him because a friend met him at a summer high school event. He admitted his feelings for her friend right away, to her friend and to her. She was just trying to protect her friend, because her friend is like her sister. But she fell for him. After she had butterflies every time he texted and had dreams of him she knew she was falling too hard. So, she shut him out. She didn't do it because she didn't like him, she did more than words could explain. She did it because her friend liked him and she was afraid. She liked boys before him, but she had never felt the way he made her feel, so she shut him out. A few months later, after she was settled in her new school, she explained why she shut him out with a lie. She still liked him, but he clearly didn't feel the same anymore. She still likes him, and every time his name pops up on her phone she still gets butterflies. But he likes another one of her friends now. And now they don't talk at all. He will always be there for her and her for him, but they don't talk like they used too. She was afraid of her feelings and how he made her feel. And she never told him she was afraid of how he made her feel. She didn't tell him the truth and she wishes they could be friends again. They built a friendship with each other, but in the end her feelings got in the way.
